Three GDR championship titles, seven FDGB and five state cup victories and, most notably, the European Cup victory in 1974 contributed to making FCM one of the most successful clubs in the GDR. The soccer club with the largest number of club members in Saxony-Anhalt is known beyond Saxony-Anhalt for its good youth work.

“Da Rookies” - the Breakdance World Champions from Magdeburg

Breakdance and Magdeburg, not necessarily two sides of the same coin and yet it is true that the world champions in breakdance not only come from Germany, but also from Magdeburg. The group “Da Rookies” won the world title in 2002 and 2006. In 2005, they won the European Championship title.

Magdeburg packs a punch - the only professional boxing club in the east of Germany

Magdeburg has been a city of boxing not only since the establishment of Ulf Steinforth's professional boxing club but also has a long tradition in national league boxing.
